Pregnancy Update: 31 Weeks & Nursery Mode
I am finally starting on our baby’s nursery—whoo! What a journey this pregnancy has been. I am 31 weeks pregnant, and I’m just now buying a crib and dresser.
I went back and forth on whether or not I wanted to do a nursery since we aren’t at our home in Dallas and are currently in an apartment. But this will be our first living baby, so why not do everything a first-time mom would normally do? Apartment or not, we’re getting the full experience.
My husband and I are all in. While I’m over here concerned about prices, hubby is all for buying the most expensive products—LOL.
Right now, we’re waiting on our furniture to arrive at our new apartment. So far, I’ve set up:
GA Power
Cable and internet
Our security system
Renter’s insurance
Next on my list is finding a painter to paint a couple of walls in the nursery and the living room.
Baby Shower Dress
Guess what?! I finally found a dress for my baby shower. I know, I know—I’m so late. My dress is currently being altered, and I’ll pick it up Friday, January 10th. Keep in mind, my baby shower is only nine days later.
The seamstress is replacing the zipper in the back of my dress with a corset, which is honestly genius. If I grow any more before the shower, the dress can be adjusted using the back straps.
Smart move on my part.
I’ve also:
Scheduled my hair appointment
Ordered my hair
Booked my makeup appointment
All that’s left now is getting my nails done.
3D/4D Ultrasound
Hubby and I had another 3D/4D ultrasound, and let me tell you—our baby was not trying to show their face this time. We did get to see our baby sucking on the placenta and thumb, and we even watched our baby practice breathing.
I absolutely love seeing our baby on ultrasound. Stay tuned for our upcoming 3D/4D ultrasound video on our YouTube channel, GoodwinSZN.
I still think our baby looks like hubby. At 25 weeks, I thought the baby looked like a boy. This time, I thought the baby looked like a girl. Now I’m wondering—should we do one more 3D/4D ultrasound around 35 weeks, or just wait until birth to see our baby again?
I honestly just love watching our little miracle grow. I’m so excited to finally have a healthy baby. I cannot believe I have less than 38 days until our baby arrives.
Next on My To-Do List
My main focus right now is finishing everything for our baby shower. Once that’s done, I’ll start getting the remaining items for the nursery. That way, I can use the gift cards we receive to purchase nursery items, diapers, and wipes.
Honest will also be sending us a care package of diapers, which I’m really excited about.
I still need to:
Pack my hospital bag
Get a diaper bag (although I may just use one bag for both me and the baby)
Overall, I still feel really great, and my belly is growing more and more every day—yay!
I can’t wait to share more updates with y’all.
With love,
Mrs. Goodwin 🐝🤍
