A Queen with a Purpose: My Journey to Mrs. Contemporary Classic Universe

Georgia Contemporary Woman Classic Universe

This year I am stepping into something new, exciting, and deeply meaningful. I am honored to represent Georgia Contemporary as I compete for the title of Mrs. Contemporary Classic Universe at the Miss Classic Universe World Finals in Las Vegas on June 16th.

Pageantry is often seen as crowns and gowns, but for me it is much more than that. It is a platform. A microphone. An opportunity to stand boldly and share a message that has been placed on my heart.

My platform is my foundation, The Goodwin Family Project, specifically our Hopeful Heart Initiative. Through this initiative, we help relieve the financial burden surrounding burial and cremation services for families experiencing pregnancy loss, stillbirth, and infant loss. It is a mission that is incredibly personal to me.

I know the pain of pregnancy loss firsthand. In November of 2017 and again in November of 2019, I lost my two baby boys at 19 weeks pregnant due to an incompetent cervix. Like so many mothers, I walked into those pregnancies full of hope and dreams. And like many loss parents, I left the hospital empty handed.

The silence that follows loss can be overwhelming. The grief can feel isolating. And unfortunately, the financial burdens that come after losing a baby can add an unexpected layer of stress during an already devastating time. That is why the Hopeful Heart Initiative exists. No family should have to worry about how they will afford to honor and lay their baby to rest. Pageantry allows me to take this mission onto a larger stage. Every interview, every appearance, every conversation becomes an opportunity to bring awareness to pregnancy loss and the families who carry this grief quietly in their hearts.

My book, Incompetent but Hopeful: Finding God’s Purpose Through Loss and Holding onto Hope, shares my testimony and the journey that brought me here. It is a story of faith, heartbreak, resilience, and ultimately hope. I believe God can take our deepest pain and transform it into purpose. Competing at Mrs. Contemporary Classic Universe is not just about winning a crown. It is about representing every mother who has ever had to say goodbye too soon. It is about reminding women that their story matters, their grief is valid, and their hope is not lost.

As I prepare for Las Vegas, I ask for your prayers, encouragement, and support. This journey is bigger than me. It is about shining a light on a cause that deserves compassion, understanding, and action. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited to see what God has in store. Sometimes the most beautiful crowns are the ones we earn through perseverance. And sometimes, the most powerful queens are the ones who rise from loss with hope in their hearts.

Las Vegas, here we come 👑

With love,

Morgan Goodwin
