Pregnancy Update: 22 Weeks

Honestly, I cannot be more grateful than I am today. I cannot believe I am 22 weeks pregnant. I’m officially in my sixth month of pregnancy, and that feels really good to say. I’ve never made it past my fifth month before.

All-White November

November is a very big month for my husband and me.

First, it’s my hubby’s birthday month—his birthday is November 19th. It’s also the month we honor the birthdays of our three sons. Our first son’s birthday is approaching next week on November 12th, and our twins’ birthday is November 25th. On top of that, we have several other birthdays this month, including my sister’s, my grandmother’s, and my husband’s grandmother’s.

In celebration and remembrance of our sons, we wear all-white clothing for the entire month of November. My husband started this tradition after we lost our first son in 2017, and I officially joined the movement this year.

I’ll be honest—it’s really hard for me to keep white clothes clean. Especially now that I have a growing belly that catches everything that drops from my mouth. So if you see me with stains on my shirt this month, please forgive me. LOL.

How Pregnancy Is Going

Overall, pregnancy has been going really well. No new symptoms to report, and the baby is doing great. My Cigna nurse was actually shocked that I’ve only gained 7 pounds so far this pregnancy. She said most women have gained closer to 14 pounds by 22 weeks.

Yikes.

We’ll be checking on the baby and my cervix again next week on November 12th. Please keep the prayers coming—we truly appreciate all the love, support, and constant prayers. And thank you to my faithful readers who continue to follow along on this journey.

Where Am I Delivering?

Since I’ll be giving birth in Atlanta, I’ll be traveling there at the end of this month to spend the rest of the season.

Why Atlanta? Because that’s where I was born and raised. My immediate family is there, and I definitely want my mom and sister by my side when I deliver.

Football season plays a major role in my anxiety. I’ll feel much safer being close to family in case preterm labor tries to sneak up on me while my hubby is at an away game. Being across the country from him will be extremely hard, but this is one of those major sacrifices we’re making to ensure our baby’s safety and care.

This month’s to-do list includes:

  • Scheduling car shipment

  • Hiring movers for our December move

  • Booking flights

  • Attending upcoming prenatal appointments

  • And—almost forgot—getting my braces off

So yes… November is full, emotional, meaningful, and busy—but I’m grateful for every moment.

With love,
Mrs. Goodwin
