Cleared for Takeoff: Chasing Dreams on God’s Timing ✈️
Last year, my husband began flight school, stepping boldly into a dream he’s carried in his heart to become a pilot. Watching him pursue something new with so much passion and discipline was inspiring in itself. But like many journeys in life, especially the ones that matter most, it didn’t come without challenges.
Not long after starting, he had to put his flight lessons on hold. There were clearances needed with the FAA, and until that process was complete, he couldn’t continue. It was one of those moments where you’re excited about what’s ahead, but life says, “wait.”
And if we’re being honest… waiting is hard.
It’s hard when you know what you’re capable of.
It’s hard when you’ve already taken the first steps.
It’s hard when your dreams feel within reach, but just out of your hands.
But what I’ve learned, time and time again, is that God’s timing is always intentional. Even in the pause, He is working. Even in the delay, there is purpose.
This season stretched our patience, but it also strengthened our faith.
So when we finally got the news that he was cleared to move forward and get back into the sky, our hearts were full. Not just because he could fly again, but because we knew what it took to get back to that moment. The waiting, the uncertainty, the trust.
And now, he’s back, pursuing his dream of becoming a pilot.
There’s something so powerful about watching someone you love refuse to give up on what God placed inside of them. To pause when necessary, but not quit. To trust the process, even when it doesn’t make sense.
This moment is a reminder that delays are not denials.
That purpose doesn’t expire.
And that what’s meant for you will always find its way back, right on time.
I’m so proud of you, Marquise. Watching you chase your dreams, even when it wasn’t easy, reminds me why I fell in love with you in the first place.
The sky isn’t the limit, it’s just the beginning. ✨
