.Training Camp Is Officially Over

OH MY GOSH you guys I am so excited that training camp is over. Training camp is very stressful for the guys as I’ve mention before in previous posts. Every day during training camp, the guys practice, go to meetings, and get treatment. They do not get to sleep in their own beds. They are either located in another city sleeping in hotels or on college campuses.

It gets so lonely and boring when my hubby is gone during training camp. I also barely get any kind of sleep. I don’t sleep well by myself unless I am back home in Dallas. Even then, I don’t sleep that great, its literally only because of the type of mattress we have at home. Seriously though, mattresses make a huge difference on your sleep.

Anyways, now that training camp is over, we still have to get through pre-season. There are four games in the pre-season. The players have an opportunity to get back accumulated to playing football during pre-season. Training camp may be over but pre-season is still in effect.

Cut-throat Profession…

The guys have to make sure they stay healthy during these games because getting hurt during pre-season is not fun at all. Also, players can never get to comfortable no matter who they are. Pre-season is the time where players get cut and traded to different teams. The NFL is a cut-throat business. They will cut you from the team and you may never see it coming.

You always have to stay on your toes, especially if you know you have one or two more years left with the team. Nobody is safe, not even my husband. A player with four to three years left can easily get traded to another team in exchange for another player. Football is never guaranteed, which is a misconception I see with people on the outside.

Prayers please…

Thank you so much for keeping up with me and my husband through our journey. I didn’t post the last two weeks because I was caught up in traveling and transitioning. We have some wonderful things happening soon. I ask that you continue to pray for me and my husband during his upcoming football season with the San Francisco 49ers.

With Love,

Mrs. Goodwin
