Part 1: Life as A WAG
What is a WAG? The term WAG refers to “Wives And Girlfriends” of professional players. I believe I have a normal life. However, others may fail to believe this statement. Life as a WAG has its perks but my life is pretty normal.
During my husband’s first three years in the league, I was still in college at The University of Texas. I was on the women’s track & field team, a hurdler to be exact. I wasn’t able to stay with him during the season, I was too busy creating my own legacy. After graduating, during his fourth year, I was able to actually live a WAG life.
If you ever watch those shows like Miami WAGS and LA WAGS, you’ll probably believe otherwise. Look, I don’t do anything extravagant but support my husband during his football season. I have a pretty boring life during the season. I cook, clean, and keep up with daily house chores just like any other wife or girlfriend would do.
My life in a nutshell
I am a stay-at-home wife who now has her master’s degree in Strategic Communications. I just finished my last class this past December. I am so proud of myself. In addition, my husband tells me how proud he is of me all the time. Believe me when I say, I am a BLESSED woman.
During my husband’s offseason, we enjoy going on vacations to different countries around the world. I’ll be sure to share our previous experiences with you in my upcoming blogs. Usually, when football season is over and we get settled back in Dallas, we travel back to Atlanta to visit my family.
Other than traveling, we attend weddings and other events. My husband recently won two awards including the Ed Block Encouragement Award and the Len Eshhmont Award. So this offseason, we will be traveling to Baltimore to receive one of his awards.
Our anniversary is also coming up in February. Every year we travel to Montego Bay, Jamaica to enjoy the food, culture, and weather. Back in 2016, we met some really nice people while in Jamaica who we now consider family. Nadine and Abi, if you’re reading this, we love you and can’t wait to see you!
