I Had the Pleasure of Being an Angel Today
Thanks to a dear friend, Bianca, I had the pleasure of being an angel today. While having the time of our lives in LA, we visited the OUE Skyspace. OUE Skyspace is California’s tallest open-air observation deck. When first entering in, you’ll walk under what seems to be a dark room full of glistening stars. On the way up, you’ll stop on the 54th floor. This level has different interactive features including a large digital video of the city of LA and other cool technologies.
After playing around, with all of the cool features, we rode up to the 70th floor. The view was amazing. Even if you’re afraid of heights, it’s an experience worth while. You can take some amazing photos and you can walk around to see a 360 panoramic view of the city. You can even enjoy a ride down the Skyslide.
The Skyslide is an outdoor glass slide positioned nearly 1,000 feet above downtown LA. This was the most exciting part. Just imagine yourself, 1,000 feet in the air with a clear box around you. The slide isn’t scary at all, so don’t be afraid. There were plenty of people who were afraid of heights enjoying this experience. The end of the slide places you on the rooftop of the 69th floor.
The rooftop of the 69th floor provides the visitors with another view of the city. You’re completely surrounded by a glass wall on the roof. This area provides visitors with tourist tower viewers. Tower viewers are the mounted binoculars tourists use for viewing close-ups of different attractions around the city. Yea, you know exactly what I am talking about. Those binoculars you usually have to pay a quarter for, in order to use them.
“And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him” (Luke 22:43)
Bianca and I were able to take some beautiful photos on this floor. On one of the glass walls, there was a painting of large angel wings. It was the most beautiful, life-size painting I’ve ever seen in my life. While standing and taking photos next to the angel wings, I immediately thought about my baby boy, whom I had lost during my pregnancy at 19 weeks. May he rest in peace.
Wow, I am so happy that I was blessed with this opportunity. I was able to be an angel. For me, it was an honorable moment. It made me realize that my son is an angel in Heaven. He’s constantly watching over me and his father, blessing us every single day. Losing my son was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to endure. I am glad I had the opportunity to lose someone so close. My own flesh and blood. It makes me appreciate life and all of the other blessing around me.
Trust me, being an angel was a blessing. I hope that one day, you’re able to visit this location.
With Love,
Morgan Goodwin
